Rapid Cancer Diagnosis
We understand that it can be an extremely worrying time when you find a lump on your pet.
So we have invested in the very latest and innovative technologies to help us diagnose and treat cancer faster than ever before!
How it works
Our rapid cancer diagnosis is a
2-step process and utilises two advanced pieces of technology:

The HT Vista and The Imagyst
Step 1: Non-invasive imaging: the HT-Vista
The first step is a screening process, using a brand new device called the HT-Vista, to assess if your pet's lump is benign or not.

We are one of the very first clinics in the UK to be able to offer this service!

The device uses innovative heat-diffusion technology to measure the temperature of the tissue without the need of a needle-aspirate or biopsy.
The whole process only takes a few minutes and can be done without the need for sedatives.
It involves clipping a small area of fur from the area of the lump and applying a probe over the lump for approximately 50 seconds.

An instant answer! Watch the short video below for more information on the process.
Step 2: Digital Cytology: The Imagyst
If your pet's lump is assessed as not-benign, then we would recommend fine-needle aspiration of the lump. This technique involves inserting a small needle into the lump and removing a sample of the tissue to assess the cells under the microscope.

In the past, these samples would be sent to an external laboratory and can take up to 5 working days to obtain a report.

At Max and Min Vets, we are able to do this in just 2 hours!
The process involves using an advanced piece of technology called the Vetscan Imagyst. This device utilises high resolution digital imaging and Artificial Intelligence to locate areas of interest under the microscope and obtain results extremely quickly.
